What inspires Michelle Kaptur? Her love for the outdoors, travel, animals, and primitive art. She owned a nine-dog sled team for 10 years, which took her to Alaska for a winter to help train an Iditarod team. She also spent five years as a wilderness ranger on horseback, living in the mountains for five months a year.
In Botswana and Zimbabwe, Michelle rode horses with zebra, elephants and giraffe, and she slept near the sound of roaring lions. She traveled to France’s famous caves with archaeologist and author Jim Keyser, fulfilling her life-long dream to see the first known paintings created by man.
Michelle lives and works on 30 acres of peaceful desert with her new ‘best dog’ and canine agility partner, Sara.
